Pushchairs for infants
For infants who have not learnt how to walk as yet, pushchairs are a convenient travel system. Differing from the pram in its design, a pushchair can be used by parents who want to take their baby out with them during a stroll about town. Children up to 3 years old can be put into these pushchairs, which come in a variety of different styles and designs.
The child faces outwards, and is placed in a sitting position, as opposed to a pram where a baby faces the person pushing the pram. Pushchairs are convenient mobile units that can be used to take the infant along with the parents, when they are out. These baby travel systems offer the convenience of storing essential baby items, along with providing a protective covering that can be rolled down or raised high up depending on the weather.
Pushchairs are also known as buggies, or baby carriers and such baby travel systems were invented in the early 1980s, which make them a rather recent creation. Pushchairs come in a swivel wheel base with suspension, which allows for easy maneuverability and smooth ride for the child. Pushchairs with wider wheel base make for the maximum range of movements; ideal for uneven city streets. The fact that pushchairs can be used for newborns as well as toddlers makes them sound investments. There are pushchairs that allow for twin babies to be placed in them, which are ideal for parents who have twin children. These pushchairs have extra seating space and wider wheel base to support the twin infants.
